TERMS OF USE
[01] WHAT THIS SERVICE IS
DeadLetter is an anonymous, encrypted time capsule service. We provide infrastructure. We cannot read your content. We are not responsible for what you write.
[02] WHAT YOU MAY NOT DO
[03] MENTAL HEALTH & CRISIS
DeadLetter includes features that some users may use during difficult moments. If you are in crisis, please reach out to someone who can help.
You can delete any letter you've written at any time, no questions asked.
[04] DATA & PRIVACY
We store encrypted ciphertext temporarily. We do not store plaintext. We do not sell data. We have no data to sell. Letters are deleted upon delivery or expiry — whichever comes first.
If you designate an email recipient for dead man's switch trigger delivery, that address is encrypted and stored temporarily alongside your letter. It is used solely for delivery and deleted immediately after. We use Resend (resend.com) as our email delivery provider. By providing a recipient email address, you confirm you have the right to send them a message on behalf of yourself.

[05] AVAILABILITY
We provide this service as-is. We may discontinue it with 30 days notice. We are not liable for lost letters due to technical failure, expiry, or service shutdown.
[05.5] WHY THIS IS FREE
DeadLetter is free because secrets shouldn't have a paywall. We don't monetize your data. We can't — we don't have it.
But Cloudflare Workers aren't free. Every letter you seal, every ping that resets your dead man's switch, every one-read delivery — those cost fractions of a cent. Fractions that add up.
If you've written something important here, and you want this infrastructure to exist for the next person who needs it — you know what to do.
[06] CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We'll update the 'Last updated' date above if anything changes. Continued use constitutes acceptance of these terms.
